Ripon City AFC in contention at top of West Yorkshire League table after third straight Premier Division win
Success in top-of-the-table clash sees men from Mallorie Park climb to third place
Ripon City climbed to third place in the West Yorkshire League Premier Division standings following Saturday’s impressive 4-2 win at fellow title hopefuls Wyke Wanderers.

The men from Mallorie Park scored three times without reply in the first half of that top-of-the-table showdown to record a third victory in as many matches.
Zack Gallimore bagged a brace for the visitors, while Kyle Fox and Elliot Gracey also struck before Wyke rallied after the interval.
That result leaves Ripon just a point behind Wanderers, and only four shy of leaders Beeston St Anthony, albeit having played a couple of games more than them.
Knaresborough Town Reserves slipped into the relegation zone despite ending a sequence of three consecutive Premier Division defeats when they drew 2-2 at Altofts.
Max Barnard struck twice in the space of eight minutes during the early stages of the second half to earn the Manse Lane outfit a share of the spoils.
Harlow Hill’s League Cup second-round clash with Horsforth St Margarets was abandoned after Greg Harrison suffered a serious leg injury and was left requiring hospital treatment.
In Division One, Kirk Deighton Rangers are now three matches without a win having been held to a 3-3 home draw by Oxenhope Recreation Reserves.
The hosts made a flying start to proceedings, with Connor Weal (2) and Sam Cottrell finding the back of the visitors’ net inside the opening quarter of an hour.
But, Rangers were unable to add to their tally during the 75 minutes that followed and had to settle for just a point in the end, with that draw dropping them to fifth place.
Mid-table Boroughbridge’s home fixture against Pool was postponed.
Improving Wetherby Athletic moved clear of the bottom of the Division Two table courtesy of their second win of the season.
The Tangerines failed to come out on top in any of their opening seven league matches, but have now taken seven points from the last 12 on offer and sit 10th out of 14 teams.
Saturday saw Athletic run out 2-1 winners on the road at Huddersfield Amateur.
