Plans unveiled for Harrogate's historic Valley Gardens as you've never seen it before this Christmas season

It’s going to be party season in the Valley Gardens in Harrogate this December as plans for a new festive marquee and a series of famous family events and street food stalls and a bar are unveiled.

The run-up to Christmas in Harrogate’s historic park will see a packed programme of Christmas parties, live tribute shows, stand-up comedy and family entertainment.

Hosted by Zoom Events, the Christmas programme will run from Friday, December 11 until Christmas Eve.

Situated close to the temporary ice-skating rink in Valley Gardens, a large marquee decorated for the festive season will provide the setting for the events, with a selection of street food stalls located alongside.

The Famous Last Stand Bar will also be serving festive drinks, real ales and cocktails.

“We're really looking forward to bringing something a little different to Valley Gardens this Christmas,’ said Paul Kennedy, Director of Zoom Events.

“We've put together a varied programme of entertainment so there's something for all ages to enjoy in the run-up to Christmas.”

Superheroes and villains will be taking over Valley Gardens, with three themed party nights taking place on Friday, December 11; Friday, December 18; and Saturday, December 19.

The parties will offer something a little different for couples, groups of friends and work Christmas celebrations.

Music fans will also have plenty to look forward to, with a series of Christmas Tribute Parties featuring live performances from popular tribute acts.

Abba Stars UK will perform on December 17, followed by Landslide Fleetwood Mac on December 22, with further tribute nights still to be announced.

Christmas stand-up comedy evenings featuring a talented line-up of comedians will also take place on Wednesday, December 16; Monday, December 21 and Wednesday, December 23 completing the line-up of evening entertainment.

Christmas comedy evenings are suitable for those aged 18 and over with seating provided throughout the marquee.

The Christmas celebrations won't be exclusively for adults, with a programme of daytime family entertainment also taking place in the marquee.

From Saturday, December 19 to Tuesday, December 22, sessions will feature a Christmas trail alongside comedy and magic shows for children.

Family-friendly Superhero Christmas Parties will also take place during the afternoons of Wednesday, December 23 and Thursday, December 24.
