Harrogate Strays Over 70s take control of Division 3 of the GMWFL
Harrogate Strays walking football
Harrogate Strays Over 70s walking football strengthened their promotion push at Heywood with another superb round of fixtures, collecting three wins, one draw, eight goals scored and four clean sheets to move three points clear at the top of Division 3.

0–0 vs Curzon Ashton
A tough opener saw Curzon frustrate the Strays with organised defending. Harrogate controlled the game and created the better chances but had to settle for a hard‑earned draw.
3–0 vs Airbus Buccaneers
The Strays responded brilliantly. Ted Sanders fired in the opener before Tony Breslin struck twice, finishing off two excellent passing moves. At the back, Rogers and Sparrow ensured a comfortable clean sheet.
2–0 vs Panthers WFC
Harrogate produced their most complete display of the day. Sparrow and Pyle were outstanding defensively, while Wawrosz and Breslin delivered clinical finishes to secure another impressive win.
3–0 vs Burnley Clarets
The Strays finished strongly. Sanders reacted quickest to a rebound for the opener, Wawrosz added a fine second, and a pressured own goal sealed the victory. Only an excellent Burnley goalkeeper prevented a heavier score line.
Manager’s Verdict
