Weetons of Harrogate is to launch magical Christmas journey to Santa’s grotto for all the family in 2026

A nationally-acclaimed Harrogate food hall is to launch an enchanting new Santa's Grotto experience this festive season that “families can enjoy together”.
Weetons of Harrogate is bringing an extra touch of magic to the festive season with The Weetons Christmas Journey to Santa’s Grotto.
Running in December at its flagship Leeds Road store, the new attraction will offer more than a traditional visit to Santa.
It will also include cookie decorating with Mrs Claus, the opportunity to choose their own Christmas bear, interactive activities, heartwarming storytelling and ending with a magical meeting with Father Christmas himself.
“We wanted to create something that goes beyond the traditional visit to Santa,” said Rebecca Germaine, Food Services Manager at Weetons.
“Christmas is all about those little moments of magic that children remember, and we've put so much thought into making every part of the journey feel special.
“It's an experience families can enjoy together, with something meaningful for children to take home and treasure long after Christmas.”
The adventure at The Weetons Christmas Journey to Santa’s Grotto will begin at Elf Check-In, where Santa’s helpers welcome little ones before they make their way to Mrs Claus’ Christmas Table.
Here, children can decorate their own festive cookie and enjoy a delicious mini hot chocolate before continuing their journey.
One of the most memorable moments comes when each child is invited to choose their very own Christmas bear from a collection of cuddly companions, ready to become a treasured friend for years to come.
With their new bear in hand, families enter Santa’s Grotto for a magical meeting with Father Christmas himself.
Children will enjoy a heartwarming Christmas story before officially adopting their bear and receiving a personalised adoption certificate.
The experience concludes with a family photo opportunity, capturing a festive memory to treasure.
Priced at £40 per child, the experience includes every activity, a Christmas bear to take home and complimentary entry for up to two accompanying adults.
Santa’s Grotto event will run from December 5 to December 24.
