Harrogate bank in historic location will shut as part of a national 'restructuring programme '
“The forthcoming closure of Harrogate’s Lloyds Bank branch is part of a broader restructuring programme”
One of Harrogate town centre’s few remaining physical bank branches is to close permanently next month.

The Lloyds Bank branch in Harrogate at 8-11 Cambridge Crescent, in a prominent building which dates back to the 1860s, is scheduled to close its doors permanently on November 19.
The new comes as Lloyds Banking Group confirmed plans in recent days to shut more of its high street branches in the UIK as part of a move to shut 250 locations throughout 2026 and 2027.
A total of 21 Lloyds branches will shut this month, with a further two set to close their doors this week.
It comes after 31 locations were closed permanently earlier in the year.
The forthcoming closure of Harrogate’s Lloyds Bank branch is part of a broader restructuring programme by Lloyds Banking Group closing select Lloyds and Halifax branches nationwide as customers shift toward digital banking.
After next month’s Lloyds bank closure in Harrogate, customers' account numbers, sort codes, and payment settings, such as direct debits and standing orders, will all remain unchanged
In addition, because Lloyds and Halifax belong to the same parent group, Lloyds customers will be able to use the nearby Halifax Harrogate Branch at 24 Oxford Street for many everyday over-the-counter services
But in a sign that the era of rapid changes in banking and how it interfaces with customers is here to stay, this year has seen Lloyds Banking Group, which also owns Halifax, announce plans to shut down the Halifax banking app ahead of plans to scrap the Halifax banking brand entirely.
The Harrogate branch of Halifax is not on any current list of Halifax closures.
