Following an assessment carried out on 28 July 2026, the clinic was rated 'Good' overall, receiving 'Good' ratings across all five key inspection areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led, with several aspects achieving the highest possible scores.

The assessment covered the clinic's diagnostic imaging and outpatient services, with inspectors highlighting the compassionate care provided by colleagues across the clinic.

In its report, the CQC stated: "The service was exceptional at treating people with kindness, empathy and compassion and in how they respected people's privacy and dignity."

A key theme throughout the inspection was the clinic's commitment to ensuring services are accessible and welcoming to everyone in the local community.

This recognition follows a programme of collaboration with community organisations including Disability Action Yorkshire, Dementia Forward Harrogate and Vision Support Harrogate District, helping to ensure the clinic environment and patient experience are inclusive for people with a wide range of needs.

The report also highlighted the clinic's personalised approach to care, finding that staff consistently treated people as individuals and went above and beyond to ensure support and treatment reflected patients' preferences and needs.

One patient told inspectors: "Outstanding care from everyone today from the minute I walked through the door. Professional attitude shown by everyone which was balanced with kindness and understanding."

Inspectors further found that the clinic had robust systems and processes in place to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care, supported by the expertise and resources available through the wider Spire Healthcare network.

Leadership was also praised, with the CQC reporting: "Leaders had the skills, knowledge, experience and credibility to lead effectively. They always did so with integrity, openness and honesty."

Tim Cook, General Manager at Spire Harrogate Clinic, said: "We are incredibly proud of this report and how it reflects the dedication, compassion and professionalism of our colleagues and consultants.

"We believe healthcare should be accessible, inclusive and centred around the needs of every individual, and we’re delighted to have been recognised for the safety and quality of our services.”
