Knaresborough care home hosts dementia awareness event
Dementia under the spotlight in Knaresborough
Awareness of dementia was put in the spotlight at a Knaresborough care home recently.
Thistle Hill Care Centre, in partnership with Dementia Forward, Radfield Home Care, Rainbow Dementia Day Care, and the Red Kite Nursery, brought the community together.
Attendees enjoyed a morning of autumn-themed activities alongside an inspiring intergenerational session, while also gaining access to vital information about the dementia support services available within the local area.
Pratheesh Thankachan, General Manager at The Thistle Hill Care Centre, said: “At Thistle Hill, we are passionate about supporting not only those living with dementia but also their families, friends and carers.
“Events like Autumn Together help bring the community together, reduce stigma, and raise awareness of the support that is available locally.
“We are delighted to work with Dementia Forward, Radfield Home Care, Rainbow Dementia Day Care, and the children from Red Kite Nursery, and it was fantastic to welcome everyone for such a wonderful morning.”
