Popular Harrogate Indian restaurant shortlisted for national award 🏆
A popular Indian restaurant in Harrogate has been shortlisted for a prestigious national award celebrating the very best of British Bangladeshi restaurants.

Starbeck Tandoori, on High Street in Starbeck, is among just four restaurants across the North East and Yorkshire to be shortlisted for the Restaurant of the Year title at the 19th Bangladesh Caterers Association (BCA) Awards 2026.
The Harrogate restaurant will compete against Babul's and Café Spice, both in Darlington, and Vadah in Stockton-on-Tees, with the regional winner set to be announced at a ceremony at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London on Sunday, November 1.
Now in their 19th year, the BCA Awards celebrate the chefs, restaurateurs, staff and entrepreneurs who have helped make British Bangladeshi cuisine a cornerstone of the UK's dining scene for more than six decades.
The awards recognise excellence across the industry, with judges assessing finalists on food quality, customer service, hospitality, presentation, consistency, innovation and the overall dining experience.
The shortlist comes at a challenging time for the hospitality sector, with many restaurants continuing to face rising operating costs and staffing pressures.
As well as honouring outstanding restaurants, the awards also recognise chefs, front-of-house staff, business leaders and emerging talent from across the country.
Oli Khan MBE, President of the Bangladesh Caterers Association, said: "Reaching our 19th BCA Awards is a proud moment for the Association and our industry.
"This year's theme, 'Honouring today's achievements, inspiring tomorrow's success', reflects the spirit of everyone who has built this sector, from the pioneers who opened the UK's early curry houses to the chefs, families and entrepreneurs shaping its future.
"Our shortlisted restaurants show the skill, resilience and ambition that continue to make this industry such an important part of British life."
A win for Starbeck Tandoori would see the long-established Harrogate restaurant recognised as the top British Bangladeshi restaurant in the North East and Yorkshire region, cementing its reputation as one of the area's favourite destinations for Indian cuisine.
