TV builder and presenter Mark Millar will be sharing advice in Harrogate

Homeowners planning to upgrade their doors and windows should look beyond appearance alone, according to TV handyman and presenter, Mark Millar, who will be sharing his renovation expertise at the Northern Homebuilding & Renovating Show in Harrogate this weekend.

Mark, who spent 17 years working on BBC One’s DIY SOS and now presents Channel 5’s Build Your Dream Home in the Country, will be delivering a Masterclass on why aluminium is the ‘go to’ for home renovations at 11.30am on Saturday 31 October.

Show visitors to the Harrogate Convention Centre will also be able to meet Mark on the Korniche stand (B143) on Saturday where they can find out about the company’s latest glazing products. 

Mark, who is a Korniche Brand Ambassador, has praised the looks of the company’s aluminium bifold doors and flat glass roof systems. 

A spokesperson for the event said: "Self-builders and renovators visiting this year’s Northern Homebuilding & Renovating Show will be able to experience thousands of home products from more than 250 exhibitors and get trusted advice from an impressive line-up of property experts and companies. 

"As well as advice on choosing doors and windows, presentations at the Masterclass Theatre will cover how to lay foundations, restore period homes, pick heat pump and lighting systems and get the right finance and insurance. 

"Topics at the Seminar Theatre include slashing fuel bills; design ideas for extensions; getting to grips with planning permission; creating perfect kitchens and beginners' guides to self building and getting a self-build mortgage. 

"Showgoers wanting some bespoke advice will be able to book individual 15-minute slots with the show’s expert speakers." 

 The Northern Homebuilding & Renovating Show opens from 10am until 5pm on 30 and 31 October, and from 10am until 4:30pm on 1 November.
