Housebuilder hands Upper Wharfedale Fell rescue £1.5k
Barratt and David Wilson Homes has donated £1,500 to Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA).

The mountain rescue charity provide vital emergency response and rescue support across the Yorkshire Dales.
For over 75 years, UWFRA has been rescuing people and animals from the caves, mineshafts, fells and crags of Wharfedale, Nidderdale, Littondale and Mid‑Airedale.
Its rescue services remain free to all, made possible solely through fundraising efforts and generous donations.
The team is made up of around 60 highly trained and well‑equipped volunteer cavers, climbers and mountaineers, who are on call 365 days a year.
The donation of £1,500 will be used to buy mountain jackets and trousers for newly joined members, which are essential for the charity to operate in the fells in any weather conditions.
Mike Dudley, Interim Secretary at Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, said: “We are grateful for every donation we receive and we were especially pleased to receive this sizeable contribution.
“UWFRA relies heavily on public support to fund its operations as it receives no government funding.
“Donations like this are vital because they help us purchase the specialist equipment needed to provide our rescue services.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks to Barratt and David Wilson Homes.
“This support makes a real difference to people who need help in the mountains and caves of our area.”
Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ donation was made as part of The Barratt Redrow Foundation, which is designed to support national and local charities, large and small, across the UK to leave a legacy in the communities in which the housebuilder operates.
Gavin Birch, Managing Director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, said: “The dedication shown by UWFRA’s volunteers is truly inspiring.
“We are pleased to support their efforts and help ensure the team has the specialist equipment it needs to continue delivering its invaluable service.”
