Knaresborough care home to host classic car show

Thistle Hill Care Centre in Knaresborough is inviting local people to step back in time at a Classic Car Show taking place on Saturday 24 October.

The event, from 2-4pm, is being held in partnership with the Harrogate Car Enthusiasts, who will be bringing along a selection of classic and vintage vehicles for residents and visitors to admire.

A spokesperson for the home said: "The afternoon will offer a wonderful opportunity for people to reminisce, share memories and learn more about some of the iconic cars from years gone by."

Residents, relatives and staff are looking forward to seeing the vehicles up close, chatting with their owners and enjoying a sociable afternoon celebrating motoring history.

The event is open to members of the local community, who are warmly invited to join in the fun.

Pratheesh Thankachan, General Manager at Thistle Hill Care Centre, said: “We are delighted to be hosting this Classic Car Show with the Harrogate Car Enthusiasts.

"Many of our residents have wonderful memories connected to cars they owned, drove or travelled in over the years, so the event is sure to spark plenty of conversations and nostalgia.

"We are looking forward to welcoming visitors from the local community and sharing a fantastic afternoon together.”

A resident at the home said: “I can't wait to see the cars. It'll be lovely to reminisce about the vehicles from my younger days and hear everyone's stories.”
