Having suffered back-to-back relegations in the last two seasons, Jaclyn Smith’s team have hit the ground running this term and recorded their fifth success in six outings as they served up another strong performance at Ainsty Road.
Captain Smith led by example, breaking the deadlock on 23 minutes to send the hosts in a goal to the good at the interval.
Durham hit back early in the second period, however Harrogate reclaimed the lead just after the hour-mark when Sarah Proctor found the net for the third game in succession.
Four minutes later, Evelyn Wright struck to put ‘Gate in full control and round off the scoring.
Next up for Smith and her charges is a home showdown with Durham University 5s this Saturday (12pm).
Harrogate’s Men’s 1s have also made a positive start to their 2026/27 campaign and headed into their clash with Durham University 4s off the back of a four-match winning steak.
But, they fell behind with just four minutes on the clock, and although in-form forward Charles Edmondson notched once again to level matters early in the second period, Joe Horne’s side had to settle for a point.
A draw leaves ‘Gate fourth in the Yorkshire & North East Premier Division standings ahead of this Saturday’s home fixture against Durham University 3s.
Harrogate Men’s 2s had to endure a tough afternoon at Chapeltown 1s in Yorkshire Division One.
They ended up on the wrong end of a 6-2 score-line despite the efforts of Will Rogers, who netted either side of half-time.
Defeat sees ‘Gate drop to third from bottom of the table ahead of this Saturday’s trip to Slazenger 1s (1.30pm).
Harrogate Ladies 2s turned on the style as they thrashed London 2s 5-2 on the road.
Bella Vere led the way for the visitors, bagging a brace to help her team climb to fourth position in the Yorkshire Division One standings.
This Saturday, an away fixture at Phoenix 1s awaits (11.30am).
