Sirens heard across town as emergency services swarm Harrogate street
A heavy multi-agency presence - including forensics teams and numerous emergency vehicles - descended on Franklin Road after sirens were heard across the town
Emergency services rushed to a residential Harrogate street yesterday afternoon, sparking a heavy multi-agency response close to the town centre.

Sirens could be heard across the town at around 4.30pm on Saturday, October 17, as emergency crews made their way to Franklin Road. Fire engines, several ambulances, and multiple police vehicles quickly arrived at the scene.

A cordon was put in place while workers dealt with the situation.
Harrogate Advertiser staff at the scene reported a substantial emergency services deployment, with four police vans and Scenes of Crime Officers (SOCO) turning out to the location. Forensics teams were observed entering a property, though they were not wearing protective white suits.

No residents were evacuated from their homes during the operation. The emergency response was wound down, with the cordon removed and the road fully reopened to traffic just after 6pm.
The Harrogate Advertiser has contacted North Yorkshire Police regarding the incident.
