With 24 doors, 96 cards and exclusive festive designs, this football calendar is a gift idea for collectors of all ages.
Forget chocolate, this year football fans can count down to Christmas with a new Match Attax card reveal every day. The Topps Match Attax 26/27 Countdown Festive Edition Advent Calendar £80.69 is a brilliant gift idea for anyone who loves collecting football cards, whether they're just starting their collection or have been swapping and trading for years.
With 24 windows and 96 cards inside, there's plenty to keep fans entertained throughout December. Rather than finding the usual festive treats behind each door, they'll get four Match Attax cards to open each day, adding new players and special designs to their collection. The 2026/27 edition is particularly exciting as it celebrates 20 years of Match Attax. The cards feature stars from the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League, giving fans plenty of familiar clubs and players to look out for.
There are also 10 exclusive Festive Edition die-cut cards, designed with a seasonal snow globe look, which are only available in this calendar. For collectors who enjoy hunting down the more unusual cards, there's a guaranteed Infinity card and a guaranteed rare, Super Rare, Mega Rare or Ultra Rare Base Parallel included too.
I think this is a great alternative to a traditional advent calendar for football-mad children, but it's not just a present for younger fans. Older collectors who still enjoy opening a fresh pack of cards will appreciate having a daily surprise to look forward to, while parents and children could even make opening each door part of their morning Christmas countdown.
It's also a gift that gives fans something to keep beyond Christmas Day. With 96 cards to add to a binder, swap with friends or use as part of their Match Attax collection, the fun doesn't have to stop when the final window is opened. If you're shopping for someone who would choose football cards over chocolate any day, this is one advent calendar worth adding to your Christmas list.
