Official opening of Little Ferns Pre-School at Coppice Valley Primary School in Harrogate
The Harrogate mayor has officially opened a new “high quality” pre-school to offer much-needed new early years provision for families in the town.
Councillor Viv Poskitt cut the ribbon at Little Ferns Pre-School as it opened its doors at Coppice Valley Primary School.
Little Ferns will provide a calm and nurturing environment for children aged three and four, with 26 places available.
The newly-refurbished space has been designed around the needs of young children, providing a welcoming environment where they can feel safe, happy and ready to explore.

Hannah McNamara, Headteacher at Coppice Valley Primary School, said: “We’re really proud to open Little Ferns Pre-School as the newest part of Coppice Valley.
"It means we can welcome and nurture children right from the very beginning of their educational journey, helping them build strong foundations for learning and for the people they will grow to become.”
The official launch event at Coppice Valley was attended by local families, alongside staff from Coppice Valley Primary School, Red Kite Learning Trust’s central team and contractor NSM.
Families attending the opening had the opportunity to tour the new facilities, meet the Little Ferns team and take part in a stay and play session, where young children enjoyed exploring and playing in the different areas of the provision.

The Harrogate mayor also spent time meeting children, families and staff and seeing the new provision for herself.
Ian Tucker, Chief Executive Officer of Red Kite Learning Trust, said: “It is wonderful to see Little Ferns open its doors at Coppice Valley.
"High-quality early years provision gives children such an important start in their education, and it is something we are rightly proud to be developing across Red Kite Learning Trust.
“What makes this particularly special is the opportunity to create an excellent start for even more children and families in the Coppice Valley community."
Little Ferns will place a strong emphasis on communication and language, helping children to develop confidence and build strong foundations for their future learning.
