Harrogate’s RHS Harlow Carr garden to host 'unmissable' after-dark spectacle for all the family
Visitors are being invited to experience Harrogate’s RHS Harlow Carr gardens in a whole new light with spectacular new light installations.
A decade after RHS Glow first lit up RHS Harlow Carr, the trail will returns for its 10th anniversary with eight new installations which will make these stunning gardens come alive over the winter season.
This immersive festive spectacle after dark will, for the first time, offer the public the chance to journey through the Winter Walk.
RHS Garden Harlow Carr’s champion trees will be illuminated to detail their intricate beauty, while a striking neon tree will conjur up a dazzling focal point beside the Queen Mother’s Lake.

The trail will end with breath taking views of the Doric Columns from the top of the Main Borders.
In addition, a brand new joint art commission with Light Night Leeds, Common Ground, created by collaborative art collective ‘are you playing out?’ will celebratesthe relationship between people, place and the natural world.
This 30-metre illuminated sculptural installation will come to life in the dark as sound reactive LED lights animate the internal core, sending pulses, glows and waves of colour.
Running from November 26 to December 30, from 4.30pm to 8.30pm, visitors can also enjoy festive food and drink including the chance to toast marshmallows over crackling fire pits.
RHS Garden Centres and gift shops will open late offering the perfect opportunity for Christmas shopping with Christmas trees, decorations and a carefully curated selection of gifts available to browse.
Created on land originally leased from Harrogate Corporation, the garden at RHS Garden Harlow Carr was established by members of the then newly-formed Northern Horticultural Society (NHS) and first opened its gates in 1950.
In 2001, Northern Horticultural Society amalgamated with the RHS.
A range of new ticketing options across all RHS Gardens will help make a visit to RHS Glow this year even more affordable.
Prices for members start at £9.50 for adults and £5.00 for children. Non-member prices start from £15.25 for adults and £8.75 for children. Under-fives go free.
