New shop to open in Harrogate town centre

The shop unit in Harrogate vacated by the traditional sweet shop is to be taken over by one of the town's leading independent cafes.

Baltzersen's has announced this morning on Twitter: "We’re delighted to announce we've agreed terms with @Harrogatebc to be the new tenants of number 2 Garrick Buildings on Oxford Street (formerly Harrogate Traditional Sweet Shop) which will be the home of our new @BakeriBaltz bakery shop! #thinkindie #harrogate"

The new shop, located right next to Harrogate Theatrem is all part of the Scandi-influenced plans to open a physical site in Kettlesing for their ‘Bakeri Baltzersen’ brand which until now has existed only online.

The bakery, set to open in April 2020, will supply Baltzersen’s’ existing cafe and coffee shop on Oxford Street and offer a wholesale supply to businesses within a 10-mile radius of Harrogate.
