Coming soon: GlowRide in Knaresborough by award-winning charity which 'offers safe spaces for young people'
“We want to offer safe spaces for all young people and our GlowRide is a great excuse to get outside”
Youngsters are being invited to join a guided group glow ride in Knaresborough next week by an award-winning charity which “offers safe spaces for all young people”.

GlowRide will take place on the afternoon of Friday, October 30 with eight to 16-year-olds being invited along for what promises to be a fun experience.
The event has been organised by the young people and leaders from Inspire Youth, an award-winning charity and local youth service based in Knaresborough which supports young people aged 8-18 across the Harrogate district.
A glow ride is a community bicycle ride held after dark where participants decorate their bikes, clothing, and helmets with lights, fairy lights, glow sticks, and reflective gear.
Inspire Youth founder Jess Ward said: "This is the first event in our active travel project series, which we hope will bring our community together on two feet- and two wheels.
“We want to offer safe spaces for all young people and our GlowRide is a great excuse to get outside, have some fun together and help local young people get the skills and confidence to get out and about after dark.”
Next week’s GlowRide is part of Inspire Youth’s community campaign to support more young people to walk, wheel and cycle more.
The event will start with a free drop-in bike maintenance session from 2pm to 4pm at Inspire Youth Community Hub.
The Glowride will run from 4pm.
The advice is just to bring your wheels, lights and all things glow.
But please dress for the weather and bring a helmet if you can.
No electric bikes or scooters are allowed.
