Huge crowd gathers for Bettys Christmas window reveal in Harrogate

‘This is the eighth year of our window reveal, which is obviously becoming a bit of a tradition for us - and hopefully for many of you too’

A huge crowd gathered in Harrogate as Bettys unveiled its 2026 Christmas Window, featuring a theme inspired by sending love to friends and family far away.

This year’s display, From Bettys, With Love, marks the eighth annual Christmas Window reveal, which took place on Parliament Street on Friday (November 6).

People began gathering from around 5pm, with visitors travelling from further afield as well as people from Harrogate.

A countdown from 10 saw the crowd join in before the window was unveiled to a chorus of delighted “oohs” and “aahs”, followed by applause.

A Bettys spokesperson said: “This is the eighth year of our window reveal, which is obviously becoming a bit of a tradition for us - and hopefully for many of you too.

“For us at Bettys, this is where Christmas really begins. It’s great to see so many of you here.”

The spokesperson went on to explain the inspiration behind this year’s theme.

“It’s to celebrate the thoughtful gifts and little gestures that mean so much at Christmas. A handwritten card, a parcel on the doorstep, or simply making time to have a drink and catch up together. Those are the moments that have inspired us this year.”

The theme takes inspiration from a time when Christmas greetings travelled by post.

The festive display features handcrafted Bettys products made by the team at the bakery, with intricate hand-piped details.

The event also featured carol singing, while mince pies and mulled wine were handed out to the crowd.

Bettys’ annual raffle also returned, with tickets distributed ahead of a draw after the reveal, offering the chance to win Christmas gifts to share with others or keep.
