Harrogate shoppers invited to spread festive cheer through Tesco's Christmas Giving Tree appeal
“Our Christmas Giving Tree is now live in store, inviting customers to help make Christmas a little brighter for people in our local community”
Tesco in Harrogate has launched its annual Christmas Giving Tree, inviting shoppers to spread some festive cheer by donating gifts to people in need in the community.
The Giving Tree is now in place at the store, with customers encouraged to choose a gift tag featuring a specific present request for a local child or adult.
Each tag includes details such as the recipient's age and gender, making it easier to select a suitable gift.
The initiative is being run in partnership with a number of local charities, including Artizan International, New Beginnings Peer Support and IDAS, alongside other organisations supporting vulnerable people across the Harrogate district.
After selecting a tag, customers can purchase the requested gift and return it unwrapped to the store's Customer Service Desk, where Tesco colleagues will sort and prepare the donations before they are distributed to the partner charities.
The deadline for donations is Monday, December 1.
The appeal aims to bring the community together during the festive season while helping ensure that those facing difficult circumstances can enjoy a brighter Christmas.
A Tesco spokesperson said: "Our Christmas Giving Tree is now live in store, inviting customers to help make Christmas a little brighter for people in our local community.
"We're incredibly grateful for the kindness and generosity of our customers, colleagues and local community.
“Every contribution can make a difference, and we hope the Giving Tree will inspire even more people to get involved."
Shoppers wishing to support the appeal simply need to visit Tesco in Harrogate, choose a gift tag from the Christmas Giving Tree, purchase a matching gift and return it unwrapped to the Customer Service Desk before the December 1 deadline.
Tesco is encouraging customers to take part during their regular shopping trips in the run-up to Christmas, helping to make the festive season a little more special for local people who may need extra support this year.
