Award-winning Slingsby Gin up for sale after owner Spirit of Harrogate enters administration

Slingsby Gin, one of the UK's best-known gin brands, has been placed on the market following the administration of its owner, Spirit of Harrogate.

BPI Asset Advisory has confirmed it is seeking urgent interest in Slingsby Gin, the award-winning gin brand operated by Spirit of Harrogate, following the company entering an insolvency process.

Founded in 2014 by local entrepreneurs Marcus Black and Mike Carthy, Spirit of Harrogate built Slingsby Gin into a nationally recognised name, closely tied to the town’s historic spa heritage.

The business operates a flagship store and gin experience in Montpellier Quarter, which has become a popular destination for visitors and locals alike.

Over the past decade, Slingsby Gin has developed a wide-ranging portfolio, including its classic London Dry Gin and flavoured varieties such as rhubarb, blackberry and marmalade.

The sale includes stock, both bonded and un-bonded, intellectual property such as registered trademarks, brand name, recipes and the company’s social media following, as well as gin tasting equipment, office and IT equipment, and a motor vehicle.

Andrew Cromack, Director at BPI Asset Advisory, said: “The UK craft and premium spirits market continues to show strong growth potential, and Slingsby Gin is a well-loved brand with an established following.

"We are looking for serious and interested parties to take this iconic brand forward, preserving its reputation and loyal customer base.”

The opportunity is being marketed to investors or drinks companies looking to acquire an established premium gin brand with an existing market presence.

The deadline for offers is 12pm on Thursday, February 6.
