Ripon’s Murder Mystery Evening to help combat global poverty
Ripon event to help Christian Aid
Charity supporters in Ripon have organised a Musical Murder Mystery Evening, to support vulnerable communities around the world.
The event will include a murder mystery quiz, alongside good music and supper, to raise money for international development agency Christian Aid, on Friday 13 November at 7.30pm at The Arches, Holy Trinity Church, Ripon.
Robert Ankcorn, organising the event with the Ripon Christian Aid Group, explained: “We’ll be offering good music, good company and a great cause! Table teams are welcome, so all can be detectives for the night, to raise funds for Christian Aid’s work.
“We have been entertained with music and a musical quiz before but this evening it will be different as the answers will lead to solving a murder.
"The setting in the Arches (formerly the Crypt of Holy Trinity Church), and obviously being on Friday the 13th, will lead to a more mysterious atmosphere.”
The money raised will go towards projects Christian Aid is funding, run by local partners in countries around the world.
Christian Aid supporters help millions of people in the most vulnerable communities transform their lives.
Between 2024 and 2025, the organisation worked with partners to directly reach 4.1 million people via almost 400 projects, from savings and loans associations to farming co-operatives, and climate disaster risk training to healthcare schemes.
Tickets are £12 including supper, with booking essential. Please contact Robert Ankcorn on 07989 484129 to book. To find out more about the work of Christian Aid and how to get involved go to www.christianaid.org.uk .
