Knaresborough gets its own junior parkrun as Conyngham Hall event launches this Sunday
Children and families in Knaresborough are being invited to lace up their trainers this Sunday as the town welcomes its first junior parkrun.
The new Conyngham Hall junior parkrun will get underway at 9am this Sunday, September 20, giving children aged four to 14 the chance to take part in a free weekly 2km event.

While Harrogate already has its own junior parkrun, the launch at Conyngham Hall means youngsters in Knaresborough will now have their own local event.
Organisers are keen to stress that it is not about speed or competition, with children encouraged to run, walk, jog or skip around the course at whatever pace suits them.
The inaugural event will begin with a briefing at 8.50am, followed by a warm-up before participants set off at 9am.
The event is free, but children must register with parkrun before taking part for the first time and bring a scannable copy of their barcode if they want their finish time recorded.
Run Director Hannah has led the work to get the new Knaresborough event up and running, with volunteers now preparing for its first Sunday.
And once the 2km is complete, families are encouraged to continue the morning together, with organisers heading to The Kingfisher kiosk for a post-parkrun coffee.
The event will then take place every Sunday at 9am.
Organisers are also looking for volunteers to help keep the event running each week.
