New independent children’s boutique and art gallery opens its doors in Knaresborough
A new independent children's boutique complete with its own in-store art gallery has opened its doors in the heart of Knaresborough.
Lullaby Lane Children's Boutique & Art Gallery has welcomed its first customers at 80 High Street, offering a range of clothing, gifts, toys and accessories for babies and children from birth to eight years old.
The business has been launched by owner Melani Darcy, who has combined her passion for children's retail with her love of creativity by incorporating an art gallery within the shop.
Alongside children's clothing and gifts, visitors can browse original artwork inspired by childhood, nursery rhymes, storybook characters and some of Knaresborough's best-known landmarks.

Speaking about the opening, Melani said it had been an emotional milestone after months of preparation.
She said: "Finally opening the doors to Lullaby Lane has been quite emotional.
"There have been challenges and delays along the way, so seeing customers walk through the door and hearing their lovely comments has made everything worthwhile.
"We've already had people saying, 'what a lovely shop', 'you must be really proud' and 'what lovely quality clothes you have'.
"One of the loveliest moments was seeing a little face peering through the window and trying to pull mummy back towards the shop.
"That is exactly what I wanted Lullaby Lane to feel like - somewhere children are excited to visit and where parents and grandparents can find something a little bit special."
The art gallery has been created to offer artwork for nurseries, children's bedrooms and family homes, with a number of pieces featuring familiar scenes from around the town alongside imaginative childhood themes.
Melani added: "The gallery gives me the opportunity to create imaginative pieces that children can grow up with, including artwork inspired by Knaresborough itself.
"I want people to be able to come in, browse the clothes and gifts, discover something beautiful for a child's room and enjoy the whole experience rather than it simply feeling like another shop."
The boutique stocks a growing collection of children's clothing brands, traditional toys, baby gifts, accessories and artwork, with the aim of offering shoppers something different from larger high street retailers.
Melani believes independent businesses continue to play an important role in market towns such as Knaresborough.
She said: "I really believe independent shops are an important part of towns like Knaresborough.
"I wanted Lullaby Lane to feel personal, friendly, creative and full of beautiful things for little ones.
"The support we've received already has been wonderful, and I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who has visited, wished us well or shared our posts."
The business is now preparing for its first major exhibition when it showcases its products at the Yorkshire Baby & Toddler Show at The Pavilions of Harrogate on October 3.
Melani added: "We're really excited to be exhibiting at the Yorkshire Baby & Toddler Show.
“It will be a lovely opportunity to introduce Lullaby Lane to even more families from across Harrogate and the surrounding area, showcase some of our products and artwork, and meet parents face to face."
