Harrogate's Zero Carbon Harrogate says there is 'clear local interest in climate change'
“We’re thrilled by the response to our event, there are now just a few tickets remaining”
A Harrogate charity says the popularity of a forthcoming film screening shows “clear local interest in climate change”.

Zero Carbon Harrogate was founded in 2016 after the success of another film screening the year before - Naomi Klein’s This Changes Everything.
Since then it had pursued its mission to bring together local residents, community groups, businesses, and politicians to advocate for decarbonisation in the Harrogate district, often partnering with local authorities, including North Yorkshire Council, to deliver sustainability programmes.
The volunteer-led registered climate change charity has also been a key player in the success of Car Free Fridays involving dozens of schools in the Harrogate district.
On Wednesday, October 21 from 7pm to 9pm, ZCH will present The People’s Emergency Briefing, a powerful 50-minute film exploring how climate and nature risks could affect our food and water, health, finances and future.
Backed by Chris Packham, and with contributions from Deborah Meaden and Jennifer Saunders, the film has already featured in ITV, Channel 4 and The Times with thousands of screenings happening across the UK.
The good news for ZCH is that nearly all the tickets for the film screening at St Mark’s Church in Harrogate have been snapped up.
A spokesperson said: “We’re thrilled by the response to our event.
“There are now just a few tickets remaining.
“Attendees are invited to stay afterwards for a facilitated discussion from 8pm and the chance to share your thoughts on what they’ve just watched. “
The People’s Emergency Briefing film was also screened last week at Pateley Bridge’s Memorial Hall in a special event co-hosted by the Nidderdale Climate + Environment Group and Nidderdale Community Energy Initiative.
