Superstar Ronnie O’Sullivan won the trophy for a record extending eighth time, beating Ding Junhui 10-7 in the final.
He will aim for a ninth title in a star-studded field, including the likes of Ding, world number one Judd Trump, Kyren Wilson, John Higgins, Mark Allen, Mark Selby, and two players who are new to the top 16, Chris Wakelin and Xiao Guodong.
The top 16 seeds will be joined by the 16 players who come through the qualifying rounds, which run from November 16-21 in Leicester.
The UK Championship is part of snooker’s Triple Crown Series and has been staged every year since 1977.
It is televised by BBC, Eurosport and many other broadcasters to a global audience of 500 million. But you could be going to see the top stars playing live.
Trump might be the man to beat, as he already has two titles under his belt this season.
He said: “I get a good buzz being introduced as world number one. It means more when you are competing in the big prestigious events like the UK Championship.
