Ryan Qualter can't put his finger on why Tadcaster Albion continue to leak so many 'poor goals'
Brewers boss left frustrated once again as failings at the back contribute to yet another defeat
Ryan Qualter admitted that he is struggling to put his finger on why his Tadcaster Albion team continues to leak so many “poor goals”.

The Brewers enjoyed a superb 2025/26 campaign, reaching the NCEL Premier Division play-off final, but have been struggling at the wrong end of the table so far this term.
Their biggest issue has been an inability to keep the ball out of the back of their own net, and those defensive failings were evident once again during Friday night’s 2-1 defeat Campion.
Albion arguably played well enough to have won the game, particularly during the second half, however they left themselves with a mountain to climb after conceding twice in the opening 26 minutes.
And although Oliver Green pulled one back just before the hour mark, the visitors were unable to salvage anything from the contest, thus slumping to a third loss in five outings.
“It’s hard to put your finger on it,” Qualter said. “We try to prepare the lads as best we can . We give them little bits of information, we try not to overload them, make it basic but tell them what teams are going to be about.
“At times, it’s like some of them are not taking the information on board, or just don’t care enough to take the information in. But you soon get found out.
“Both goals at Campion came from things that we had identified. It’s not things that we aren’t saying to the lads, and we are just asking them to do the basics.
“The two goals are really poor goals, and you can’t give teams two goals, and it’s happening every week. It’s not just the defence, it’s us as a unit.
“It’s really frustrating and it’s something that needs to stop quickly, in terms of the goals because we are conceding far too many.”
Friday’s defeat leaves Tadcaster third from bottom of the table with 15 points to their name from 16 matches.
