Harrogate Town sign ex-Chelsea FC and West Bromwich Albion defender Kyle Jameson on short-term contract
Injury-hit Harrogate Town have bolstered their ranks with the signing of free agent Kyle Jameson.
The 27-year-old centre-half, who was most recently on the books of fellow League Two outfit Newport County, has signed a short-term deal with the Sulphurites and goes straight into their squad for this Saturday's home clash with Walsall.

Town currently have eight players sidelined through injury and were able to field just three recognised defenders at Notts County last weekend.
And with Lewis Cass, Bobby Faulkner, Tom Bradbury and Liam Gibson expected to be missing for the foreseeable future, Jameson's arrival provides Simon Weaver with a much-needed option at the back.
On his decision to offer the six-foot-three-inch stopper terms, Harrogate's manager said: "Kyle has already shown on trial how hungry in his and how much he wants to prove a point.
“He’s trained well, looked fit and eager and has had good experience in this level.
"He’s a very mobile centre-half and, at 27, should be coming into his peak years."
Jameson was on the books of Southport, Chelsea and West Bromwich Albion as a youngster, but would make his professional debut with Barrow in the National League.
More National League experience came with AFC Fylde, before Jameson joined Oldham and experienced EFL football with the Latics.
He then spent a brief spell at Tranmere Rovers before Newport, where he made 42 appearances across two seasons.
“I’m made up to be here and can’t wait to get going," Jameson said.
“I like to get on the ball and play, take pride in my defending and will give everything I can for the club.
“It’s a great set up here and the lads are a top bunch so I’m really excited to be here.”
Jameson has been handed the number 23 shirt and could make his debut when struggling Town entertain title-chasing Walsall this Saturday (12.30pm).
