Popular Boroughbridge Show will return at Newby Hall with new attractions for families and rural favourites
The “importance of the rural economy” will be highlighted in a day of rural celebration and family fun at one of the Ripon and Harrogate area’s most beautiful stately homes.
The Aldborough and Boroughbridge Agricultural Show will returns to the stunning setting of Newby Hall, marking the 111th staging of the much‑loved Yorkshire rural event.
A staple of Yorkshire’s summer calendar, the show promises a day of rural celebration, family fun and traditional entertainment.
Taking place on Sunday, July 26, this year's event promises new features, including a rural wellbeing hub, a creative writing competition and a “fittest farmer” challenge, joining a packed programme of long‑standing favourites.

The show also boasts a newly-appointed show president who knows how important the event is in challenging times for the rural world.
"I am deeply honoured to be appointed president of our brilliant traditional rural show,” said Amanda Gill.
"Agriculture is having a tough time, and it is more important than ever to work with our local community to demonstrate the importance of the rural economy to the public, our much‑loved countryside and the stability of the food chain for us all.”
Opening at 9.30am, the show will feature traditional livestock and equine classes, a cattle parade, cattle and sheep showing, horse and donkey classes, heavy horses and private driving.
Family entertainment includes dog agility displays, terrier racing, children’s horticultural classes, races and fancy dress.
Visitors can also enjoy a vintage vehicle display, creative handicrafts, floral, baking and preserves competitions, trade stands, a craft tent, a beer tent and cream teas.
Stuart Gill, Commercial Director at Newby Hall, said: “The show provides an amazing opportunity to enjoy some of the best of Yorkshire’s livestock, vintage vehicles and locally-grown produce, as well as our spectacular gardens and adventure playground.”
The show enjoys support from the Boroughbridge Agricultural Society, Boroughbridge Chamber of Trade and the Boroughbridge Agricultural Society.
Tickets include entry to Newby’s award‑winning gardens and adventure playground.
Dogs are welcome on the show field but not permitted in Newby’s gardens.
