New team at 'vital' Knaresborough banking hub praised by MP for supporting residents and businesses

The Knaresborough Banking Hub officially opened in November 2023 at 15 Kirkgate, Bowling Green Yard, offering shared counter services operated by the Post Office as well as rotating Community Bankers from major banks.

Last week saw new operator, Andrew Hart take over over the vital face-to-face banking services last week alongside his business partner Asma Ola.

Andrew and Asma will run Knaresborough Banking Hub together with their existing Post Office businesses.

The team are already busy talking with, and listening to, existing and new customers to understand how they can streamline the service to best meet their needs.

"The Banking Hub is a true asset to the beautiful and busy town of Knaresborough but we need to make sure the whole community knows that it exists and what it offers,” said Andrew Hart.

"Asma and I are looking forward to talking with and listening to all our existing and new customers so we can shape the hub's services to best meet their needs.”

The arrival of the new operating team has been welcomed to town by Harrogate and Knaresborough MP Tom Gordon, who said he was impressed by their approach.

After paying a visit to the hub to talk to them, Mr Gordon is encouraging everyone to use its services

"The Banking Hub is a lifeline for Knaresborough,” said the Lib Dem MP.

"As more and more bank branches have disappeared, hubs like this one keep essential face-to-face banking within reach for older residents, small businesses and anyone who relies on cash.

"It was great to meet Andrew and hear his and Asma's plans for it.

"Their focus on listening to customers and shaping services around what local people need is exactly the right approach.

"I'd encourage everyone in Knaresborough to make use of the hub.

"It's easy to find just off the Market Square.

"The more people use it, the stronger its future will be."

Knaresborough Banking Hub is open Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm.
