New Harrogate shop to open this weekend

Boasting 8,200 sq. ft, it is set to provide a much-needed boost for the town's retail sector as it battles the tough climate for the high street.

Located at 49-57 Station Parade near Harrogate railway station and sitting adjacent to James Street in the spot vacated by Indulge cafe, The Cotswold Company are opening a brand new furniture and interiors store.

Following an unofficial launch to the public last week, the new store is having what it calls a "grand opening" on Saturday, April 13.

Offering handcrafted, country-inspired furniture plus home accessories, the national chain hails originally from the pretty rustic towns and villages in The Costwolds and inspired by the founder of the arts and crafts movement, William Morris.

James Birtwhistle, Co-Founder, The Cotswold Company said: "“As a proud Northerner it was an absolute honour to open our Harrogate showroom yesterday. "It’s taken some very, very long hours to get here but thanks to a Herculean effort by an incredible team at The Cotswold Company we finally did it! It already had four stores in place like Stow-on-the-Wold, Chelmsford, Norwich and Godalming before opening the fifth in Harrogate.

The new store also held a special launch party on Wednesday.Guests enjoyed treats provided by local firms - to enjoy a relaxed evening of fizz and delicious canapes prepared by Juste Nous.Scrumptious cupcakes were baked specially by Mama Doreen’s.A selection of flavoured gins available to sample by Harorgate's Slingsby Gin.Spring-themed blooms kindly provided in abundance by Regal Florists.

The new Harrogate branch is now running sale event from Saturday, April 13 to Monday, May 6.

The arrival of The Cotswold Company is in contrast to a long-standing shop in Harrogate town centre.

After first opening in 1993, The Yorkshire Linen Co on Oxford Street.is empty and its doors are closed.
