The online awards event, which was expertly hosted by BBC Look North legend Harry Gration MBE, brought to a close the longest awards season in the paper’s history.

Hide AdThe awards were launched at the end of last year and a live ceremony had been planned for April but was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
In the event, the online version went without a hitch and the region’s business community watched from offices, workshops, studios and homes as the worthy winners were announced.,
Editor Jean MacQuarrie said: “This was obviously the most unusual Business Awards any of us can remember, but it went extremely well, and our friend Harry handled the whole event with aplomb.
“I’d like to thank all our loyal sponsors Harrogate Borough Council, Yorkshire Agricultural Society, Berwins, Rudding Park, Leathers the Accountants and Howard Matthews Partnership, because without them there wouldn’t have been any Excellence in Business Awards at all.
