Housebuilder sponsors popular Wetherby 10K for second year as runners prepare for annual race
A Yorkshire housebuilder has renewed its support for one of the region's best-known road races by sponsoring the Wetherby 10K for a second year.
Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire has donated £250 to Wetherby Runners Athletics Club to help stage this year's event, following its sponsorship of the race's 20th anniversary celebrations in 2025.
The Wetherby 10K will take place on Sunday, September 6, with runners taking on a flat, scenic course that has earned Gold Grade status from the British Association of Road Races.
Alongside the main event, organisers will also host a 1.6-mile Mini-Marathon for younger participants and families.

Wetherby Runners AC caters for runners of all abilities, offering both competitive and social running opportunities, as well as junior sessions for boys and girls aged ten and above.
Nick Wallhead, Race Director for the Wetherby 10K at Wetherby Runners AC, said: "We work hard to bring this event to Wetherby every year, and our runners are always incredibly supportive, helping to make it such a success.
"Sponsorship is vital for us and our fundraising, so we thank Taylor Wimpey for its support."
This year's race will raise funds for Leeds Hospitals Charity, which supports NHS staff by funding life-saving equipment, pioneering treatments, research into rare diseases and projects that improve patient care and wellbeing.
Sam Evans, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, said: “We are thrilled to be able to support this year’s Wetherby 10K race.
“At Taylor Wimpey, we are dedicated to supporting the communities in areas where we build, and Wetherby 10K has proven to be a great example of community togetherness and spirit.”
Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire is currently building new homes at its Swinnow Park development off Racecourse Approach in Wetherby, where a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties are available.
There is still time for runners to sign up for this year's Wetherby 10K, with entries remaining open ahead of the event.
