The family-run butchers shop and specialty grocery store owned by brothers Gordon and Andrew Atkinson had decided the safety of customers and staff had to come first.

Elite Meat prides itself on all its meat being locally sourced and fully traceable.

Recent years have seen it voted one of the top five butchers in the UK by the Financial Times and has also been voted one of England's top 10 best pork pies.
