Acclaimed Scottish artist for Harrogate’s Walker Gallery

Walker Galleries Contemporary is to host an exhibition by acclaimed artist John Lowrie Morrison OBE.

Running from September 13-27, the new exhibition follows the success of their previous exhibition of this Scottish artist’s work, including a show in 2012.

The theme of Morrison’s latest collection at 13 Montpellier Parade is The Hebrides, Venice, Flowers which combines his love of Scottish scenery, still lifes and Italy.

Ian Walker, director of Walker Galleries, said: “John’s work, with its vibrant and strong images, follows in the tradition of the Scottish colourists such as Peploe and Cadell. “

In 2005 Morrison famously founded The Jolomo Foundation, a charitable body aimed at encouraging the painting of the Scottish landscape with its own awards.

A percentage of the proceeds from this new exhibition will go to Carers Trust.
