New sculpture a feature at Boston Spa hospice’s gardens thanks to housebuilder
The gardens at Martin House Children’s Hospice now have a new sculptural feature helping to provide a calming space for children and their families thanks to Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire.
The tall garden rings sculpture had been a feature outside the housebuilder’s show home at its Stanhope Fields development in Pool-in-Wharfedale.

However, after announcing Martin House Children’s Hospice as its chosen charity for 2026, Taylor Wimpey decided that the sculpture could serve a much better purpose in a new home.
It has now been transported and re-erected as a feature in the gardens of the Boston Spa hospice, which provides free care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions as well as support for their families.
Hannah Finan, Partnerships Manager at Martin House Children’s Hospice said: “Our gardens are enjoyed by everyone - children, their families and staff.
"They provide essential therapeutic and emotional support by reducing stress, stimulating the senses, and encouraging mindfulness.
"These spaces offer a peaceful escape from clinical environments, helping children connect with nature and creating meaningful environments to make memories with family.
“We intend to plant climbing plants and flowerbeds around the sculpture, with further ideas to decorate it seasonally, and for events that we host at the hospice for families.
“We were delighted to be named as Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire’s chosen charity earlier this year and that their staff recognise the vital support we provide for children and their families.”
Sam Evans, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire, said: “We take great pride in our show homes when we design them, and architectural garden features can play a part.
"Therefore, we are delighted to be able to donate this feature to the hospice to add to the aesthetic and harmony of their gardens which play such an important role for families.”
Taylor Wimpey Yorkshire is delivering 57 two, three and four-bedroom properties at Stanhope Fields, off Pool Road, with only a handful of properties remaining.
The properties all benefit from the latest technology in respect of insulation and low maintenance, including features such as solar panels, triple glazing, smart heating controls, EV charging points, wastewater heat recovery and thermal door and window lintels, designed to reduce heat loss.
