Starting this Sunday, August 2, at 5.30pm, The Fashion House Bistro will be playing host to a duet performing well-known, easy listening songs by the likes of George Gershwin and Rodgers and Hart.

The pair, Chris White (vocals) and Martin Long (piano) are already well-known on Harrogate’s live music scene, having previously been two thirds a trio playing at Harrogate Brasserie for the last 13 years.

Then at 8.30pm on Thursday, August 6, Leeds singer-song writer Hayley Gaftarnick will be making her FHB debut playing two sets of soul, jazz and reggae.

Proprietor David Dresser said: “I’m a huge fan of live music, and since the middle of March coronavirus has denied us the opportunity of enjoying live music indoors.

“I’m delighted to announce that from this coming weekend, the Fashion House Bistro will be introducing two weekly helpings of live music on Sundays and Thursdays.

“Having just launched our Sunday lunch menu, the duet, playing from 5pm to 7.30pm, will be a great way to finish off the weekend. They describe their style as ‘creating a nice mood’, and will be far from intrusive.

“I’ve known Hayley for many years, and it’s superb to have her playing on Thursdays. She’s a great solo artist and will be performing a variety of songs to entertain diners and those just popping in for a leisurely drink.”

David added: “Being the new ‘kids on the block’ there has certainly been a lot of interest with people coming to check us out. The response has been great and having a garden for drinking and dining has certainly been a real bonus, and one our customers have taken advantage of.

“We’ve already got a number of regulars, and I hope the launch of our Sunday lunch menu and the offering of live music will see that increasing week on week.”
