FOLLOWING a sold-out show last month for Sitting Room when the Wharfedale Suite at the St George Hotel, Harrogate hosted more than 200 comedy fans, this popular Harrogate comedy club returns next Wednesday, May 9 with another strong bill.

Headlining next Wednesday is hilarious Liverpudlian, Steve Gribbin.

From 1984 to 1993, Steve was one half of the political musical duo, Skint Video, appearing on shows such as Saturday Live, Cabaret at Jongleurs and The Mary Whitehouse Experience.

Since then, he has become a solo stalwart of the comedy circuit and a permanent member of The Comedy Store’s political show.

Support acts include Keith Farnan who was due to open last month but regrettably couldn’t make it.

Reviews for Keith have been categorically incredible and, with a critically acclaimed performance, on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow he is sure to be very funny.

Ellie Taylor is one of the country’s most exciting up-and-coming female comedians and is now hosting the new series of BBC3’s Snog, Marry, Avoid.

Promoter and resident MC, Tom Taylor, said: “We are fortunate, in the St George Hotel, to have access to one of the best comedy rooms I have ever experienced”.

“It’s an exciting time. I’ve also just launched an open mic night in York for comics, musicians, poets. ”

Tickets priced for next week’s show whicb starts at 8pm cost £10 each and are available from the St George reception, Harrogate Tourist Information Centre or from
