Local butchers from around North Yorkshire will be competing for the ultimate accolade of ‘Best Sausage’ at a special event near Bedale this Saturday, July 26.
The first ever Sausage and Beer Festival to be held at the Camp Hill Estate will celebrate local butchers and brewers and give people the opportunity to taste and vote for their favourites.
Starting at noon, visitors will be able to sample a wonderful variety of the finest sausages from up to 20 local butchers.
They will also receive a free sausage sandwich from HECK, the new local independent sausage company from Debbie and Andrew Keeble of The Harrogate Sausage Company and Debbie and Andrew’s fame .
Set in 250 acres of a private country estate at Kirklington, a short drive from Ripon, a selection of locally produced beers will also be available to buy and enjoy throughout the day including Northallerton Brewery and Wensleydale Brewery.
With lots of fun sausage-based activities, including sausage making, a sausage cookery demonstration and a ‘Speediest Link’ challenge, visitors can also explore The Camp Hill Estate and have fun on the adventure playground and children’s assault course.
There will also be Rosie’s Vintage Cream Teas, face painting, a bouncy castle and an oomph band to keep everyone entertained.
Proceeds will go towards raising money to buy a defibrillator for the Camp Hill Estate.
