IF you happened to be at Lightwater Valley theme park over the Easter weekend, you may have spotted a bit of minor fan mania.

If so, it was prompted by an appearance by Waterloo Road and Coronation Street heart-throb Lucien Laviscount who was launching his debut single called Dance with You featuring Mann, set for release on April 22.

The lad is certainly well connected if nothing else.

His agent is Simon Webbe of the boy band Blue, while the video for the single features celebrity appearances from the likes of Inside Men star Ashley Walter, AKA Asher D from So Solid Crew, all the boys from pop group Blue and actors Matt D’ Angelo and Geoff Bell.

IT’S congrats to amazing Wetherby singer Monkey Anna who has made it through to the next round of the Live and Unsigned competition.

A BRITISH guitar great from the days of The Yardbirds who is playing a show at Ripley Town Hall tomorrow night says the legendary 60s group may have never recorded hits like For Your Love, Heart Full of Soul or Shape of Things and may have stuck to the classic blues of Smokestack Lightning, Good Morning Little School Girl, Boom Boom, Rollin’ and Tumblin etc if he had not left them.

The original guitarist in The Yardbirds as a teenager before leaving the group in 1963, Top Topham has established a high reputation since then and recently formed a musical alliance with fellow ex-Yardbirds’ John Idan on vocals.

The band also includes bassist Jim Mercer from the Muddy Waters Band and drummer Ed Spevock who has played with Van Morrison, Cat Stevens and Jimmy Cliff.

SOUL-ful Harrogate songstress Angie Shaw plays the Blues Bar this Sunday afternoon as part of a major tour by a top Texan vocalist.

The local singer-songwriter is the special guest of award-winning US Texas soul man David Fenley in a series of dates called Beer, Blokes & Ballads which includes a show tomorrow night at Tan Hill Inn, the highest pub and live music venue in Britain which also features Geordie singer-songwriter Simon Todd on the bill, is ticket only. You can catch Angie and the gang the next day at Harrogate’s Blues Bar at 3pm.

A TALENTED young Harrogate singer-songwriter who’s had lessons from Sir Paul McCartney (no, he’s not boasting, it’s just that he went to the school Macca set up – LIPA in Liverpool, as did The Wombats) is playing one of Harrogate’s nicest cafes in a week’s time.

Reportedly a well-crafted performer (well, naturally) Lewis Fieldhouse will play three sets at Jakes next Friday, April 20 from 7.30pm onwards.

Expect everything from ballads to rock and back again but don’t expect the expected.Lewis likes to play songs by famous acts you might not have heard for a while.

Interestingly, Jakes, which can be found at the bottom of Oxford Street, now has a real rock n roll theme to its décor with iconic artworks of David Bowie, Sid Vicious, Mick Jagger and more.

THIS just in! Dick Gaughan is to play the Frzaer Theatre in Knaresborough for Kula.
