Grewelthorpe’s new village hall is launched his weekend with a special music concert.

Having successfully converted a former chapel into a multi-purpose venue, oganisers have chosen two talented locals to perform live this Saturday night.

Headliner Dan Burnett is a terrific r’n’b pianist and vocalist while Gina McCann is a multi-talented 14-year-old singer-songwriter from Ripon who was a finalist in last year’s AMP Awards final with her band GLJJ and has already appeared in respected venues across the north despite still being at school.

Dan Burnett is the son of Laurie Burnett, who was in bands with ex David Bowie’s Spiders from Mars’ members Mick ‘Woody’ Woodmansey and Trevor Bolder.

Dan has shared stages with the likes of: Aynsley Lister, Sherman Robertson, The Animals & Friends, Mick Ralphs (ex Bad Company/Mott The Hoople), Matt Schofield, Todd Sharpville, Debbie Davies, Nine Below Zero and Paul Jones (The Blues Band / Manfred Mann).

The show starts at 8pm and tickets are available from Julie Stead-Connor on 01765 658814.
