There’s been a boost for the forthcoming Frazer Theatre fundraising concert starring award-winning folk act Chris Wood.

Joining the bill for the gig Saturday, February 8, organiser Mike Addison tells me, will be the terrific singer-songwriter Ian Wallace, well-known to music fans in Knaresborough when he came to the Frazer to support Sean Taylor for Kula promoters.

In addition, headliner Chris Wood has just seen his recent album None The Wiser receive a nomination for Best Original Song in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards with the results due at the Royal Albert Hall on February 19.

This passionate English folk musician set up the English Acoustic Collective in 1999 to link the many threads of his teaching activities, including summer schools based at Ruskin Mill near Nailsworth, Gloucestershire.

Profits from this show will go to the Raise the Roof campaign by Knaresborough Players to replace the Frazer Theatre roof.
