Harrogate woman Sarah Collier's exciting new artistic venture in her own family home has proven a huge success.
The launch night for the new Silson Contemporary Art Gallery at Harlow Oval last Friday was packed and Sarah was overwhelmed by the response - and the amount of bouquets.
Sarah said: "It was fabulous. I'm slightly overwhelmed at the response. The launch was all a bit of a blur for me - so busy and buzzing. All the comments were so positive.
"And the weekend was equally good. There were lots of visitors and sales on both days.
"Everyone who visited said it was a beautiful space and commented on my choice of art and artists, how I clearly had a great eye, how it was all hung in a very considered and beautiful way."
Sarah would like to thank everyone who sent flowers or supported the launch, including Nicky and James Cain of Harrogate Spring Water supplied the sparkling/spring water as part of the non-alcoholic drinks for the event.
Sarah said: "Everyone was so supportive. I'm just thrilled with the whole launch. It really could not have been better."
The local artists in the launch exhibition were: Gina Bean, Boroughbridge; Cath Brooke, Leeds, Peter Clough, Harrogate; Gary Crowder, Leeds; Claude Frere-Smith, Saltburn on Sea; Richard Gray, Easingwold; Marcus Hammond, Harrogate; Suman Kaur, Leeds; Moz Khokhar, Barnsley; Gill Kirk, Pateley Bridge; Terence Lister, Huddersfield; Jake Mullins, Thirsk; Julia Poulton, Harrogate; Pietro Sanna, York; Freya Stockford, Leeds; Dione Swift, Holmfirth; Gary Thomas, Walsden; Ali Thompson, Brandsby; Tim Tudor, Holmfirth; Anna Whitehouse, Harrogate.
