Festive concert to help sick children

Performing arts group, danSing, will host a festive charity concert in Wetherby on December 12 to raise funds for Bethany's Smile, a charity founded by teenager, Bethany Hare, to support children with life threatening and life-limiting illnesses.

Headlining the glittering evening at St Joseph’s Church will be British recording artist, composer and international flautist, Simeon Wood.

Other special guests for the concert include TV journalist and News Presenter, Christine Talbot and award-winning fundraiser and singer, Bethany Hare who is currently the Children of Peace Youth Ambassador for Music and was a recipient of the Princess Diana Award and Prime Minister’s Points of Light Award in 2015.

The impressive concert line up also features singers, Bradley Johnson and Maia Broughton, vocal harmony trio, The Duchy Belles, Music for Youth award winners Brackenfield Junior Choir, musical theatre artists Coraleigh Hobson (NYMT), Will Jackson, Sam Daltry (NYMT) and Lucy Sherman (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, National Tour and Strictly Ballroom), Major Cindy Stanford of the Wetherby Salvation Army and danSing’s own talented, young performers under the musical direction of Helen Leaf with direction by Jane Waring and additional choreography by Coraleigh Hobson and Nic Cain.

“danSing at Christmas is an event for all the family, with a special appearance from Father Christmas himself, and promises to be a magical way to start the festive season,” said a spokesman.

Doors oat 6.15pm for 7pm start. Tickets £15 for adults and free for 12 and under.
