A former Harrogate student from Ripon turned successful actress has started a blog about her latest role.
Genevieve Barr, who went to Harrogate Ladies’ College, has appeared has appeared in many TV dramas - from Shameless to Murder on the Victorian Railway which was broadcast on BBC2 only a few weeks ago.
A deaf actress, readers may also remember this talented twentysomething from the BBC drama, The Silence, a couple of years ago when she played the leading role of a deaf teenager who witnesses a murder.
Genevieve’s co-stars included Douglas Henshall, Hugh Bonneville and Dervla Kirwan.
Genevieve was originally a pupil at Belmont Birklands Preparatory School in Harrogate before going on to Harrogate Ladies College, then embarking on a English literature and history degree at Edinburgh University.
Genevieve is currently appearing on stage in My Left Foot author Adrian Dunbar’s production of Brian Friel’s play Translations which is touring. Fresh from appearing in Cork, the tour has now moved onto Dublin before dates in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Belfast, Cardiff etc.
