Organised by Marie Curie nurse Sarah Smith and her zumba instructor, local Brazillian dance teacher, Fernando Sarmento de Alencar, the danceathon will take place at at Bilton Church Hall on Saturday, February 3, from 2pm to 5pm.
Joining Sarah and Fernando will be York-based capoiera instructor (Edson Alves) and Latin dance professional Marggiori Ariza.
They will be giving demonstrations of their craft as well as joining in with the dancing.
Mayor of Harrogate, Coun Les Ellington will be opening the event and organisers say they are hoping a Yorkshire TV star will be making a guest appearance.
Various local businesses have donated prizes for a raffle.
Sarah said: “This event is all about having a laugh whilst doing something hugely worthwhile in raising funds for Marie Curie.”
