BUDDING artist April Kennedy is running her first ever art exhibition at the Harrogate Library.
April, 21, from Starbeck, attended Harrogate High School and held various jobs before she decided to concentrate on her ambition to become an artist.
She said: “What I enjoy most about painting is having to use my imagination and getting away from everyday life to create something unique and of my own.
“I never used to paint. I only used to draw with a pencil until I started secondary school and just picked up the basics from there, at the age of 12.
“I have been painting ever since, just as a hobby, until recently when I decided to leave my job at Primark to paint full time. From doing my first exhibition I hope that more people know my name and gain a good experience from it.”
She is also working on a number of paintings to be sold for charity at the request of a friend who is doing a sponsored walk through Peru to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research.
April’s art exhibition is currently on display at the tibrary.
