A CEILIDH at The Cairn Hotel on will help towards a £10,000 target a Harrogate woman has pledged to raise for an International Women’s Charity.
The dance on Sunday, September 25 is part of Jackie Terry-Schumann’s efforts to deliver on her pledge to raise the money for Women for Women International, a charity that supports women in war zones.
Mrs Terry-Schumann, who is half-way to her target already, said: “We all watch in horror the news about the terrible things that happen to women as a result of conflicts all over the world and in the past I’ve often felt powerless to help.”
She will culminate her fundraising drive, along with nine other women, each raising their own £10,000, by climbing Mount Everest in October.
You can support her efforts by donating at www.justgiving.com/Jackie-TS-Everest-Trek or coming along to the Ceilidh on September 25 at the Cairn Hotel.
Tickets cost £10 and can be purchased from Jackie by phoning 01423 531235, emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling in at Quality Health Foods, 3 Westminster Arcade, (off Parliament Street), Harrogate.
