Having enticed the likes of Sir Peter Blake, The Special's Horace Panter and Dudley Edwards, the artist who painted Paul McCartney's piano, in person to Harrogate in recent years- the brilliant RedHouse Originals gallery has now secured The Coral to travel to Harrogate for an exclusive appearance in tandem with a new, one-off exhibition of the band's artwork.Based on Cheltenham Mount, RedHouse is presenting The Coral: Distance Inbetween; a new exhibition documenting the music, artwork and stories behind the critically-acclaimed recent album by one of the UK's greatest guitar band. The exhibition will launch with an intimate acoustic performance from The Coral at the gallery on Wednesday, December 7. Such is the demand for this exclusive appearance that tickets are like gold-dust already.Thankfully, gallery owners Richard McTague and Jon Kendall have set up a competition to win tickets for the launch event via the band's website at www.thecoral.co.ukSeasoned songwriters, accomplished multi-instrumentalists and producers, the Mercury Prize-nominated band are also entirely responsible for the artistic vision that has made them such an integral part of guitar music in the early 21st Century.Having enjoyed hit singles and top ten albums in the early part of their career, The Coral have enjoyed a renaissance this year with the 2016 album Distance Inbetween; the band’s first collection of new material since 2010.This one-off exhibition will feature new unseen artwork alongside special edition prints created by Ian Skelly to document the songs and the stories behind the music. Also on display will be original artefacts and ephemera that inspired the creation of the album. The Coral: Distance Inbetween exhibition will be on display for two weeks only from December 8-22 and the band will tour the UK from December 8-17.
