Theatre company Badapple tours new show to village venues

Green Hammerton-based Badapple Theatre Company is heading into the festive season with a magical mix of theatre, songs, clowning, puppetry, music and animation thanks to its new Christmas production.

The Elves and the Carpenter follows the adventures of Mrs Claus who is getting worried.

It’s toy making time in Santa’s workshop but the Elves have left the building. In fact, they have not been seen since last Christmas when they packed their cases and headed off to their other jobs around the globe.

A whirlwind journey ensues and she finds the most mischievous of the helpers hiding out at Mrs Carpenter’s Upcycling Shop.

The Elves’ attempt to help her complete the special Christmas order isn’t working out quite as well as they had hoped. Can Mrs Claus help them wrestle victory from defeat and get them to the Pole on time?

Writer Kate Bramley, said: “It’s always a special treat for us to put our new Christmas stories out on the road. Over the past decade we’ve really worked hard to create performances that are just as appealing for grandparents as they are for kids.”
